Student Employment

Financial Aid

Our student employment program offers the opportunity for students to work on campus, or off campus through the Service Advocates program. Only matriculated undergraduate students enrolled for at least 12 credits in the semester in which they work are eligible for these positions.

Most jobs are only open to students who received a federal work-study award as part of their financial aid package, although some skill-based positions are open to all students regardless of award status. Positions are posted in Handshake one week prior to the start of classes. Once positions have been posted, you can use Handshake to search and apply for student employment positions.

How to Apply

You can search for student employment positions in Handshake following these steps:

  • Click the "Jobs" search tool in the navigation bar at the top of the page
  • To find positions designated as on-campus student employment, click "Filters" and then check the box next to "On Campus" from the available job types.
  • Click the "Show Results" button at the bottom of the page. This will give you all of the jobs that have been specified as on-campus student employment.

Please keep in mind that a federal work-study award is an opportunity to earn, not a guarantee. The program is competitive, so you should apply early in the semester and to as many positions as possible to increase your chances of finding employment. If you find employment on campus, you will need to complete employment documents prior to your first day of work. A list of acceptable I-9 documents is provided below.
